2-Days Tarangire and Lake Manyara Tour

The guide-driver meets you at your stay in Arusha, and you immediately head to the park. (transfer approx. 2 hours from Arusha to the park. Tarangire is one of Africa’s little-known gems. Its name comes from the Tarangire River, which flows through the park and is the only source of water during the dry season. Tarangire’s landscape is incredibly diverse, unmatched anywhere else in northern Tanzania. The park is home to ancient baobab trees, believed by the Maasai to be the world’s first trees, as well as large termite mounds. During the dry season, the blazing sun turns the ground a dusty red color, while during the rainy season, everything turns green (thick bushes and lush tall grasses). Known for its large elephant population, it is also home to lions, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, waterbucks, baboons, pygmy mongooses, impalas, buffalos, antelopes and fringed oryx. The swamps are divided by flocks of birds, including green forest hoopoes, lovebirds, tall herons, giant kingfishers, bustards, and ostriches. You will have lunch in the park.
