The first destination to visit in Uganda is the famous Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest protected area, home to more than 73 animal species, including buffaloes, leopards, lions, and elephants, 3/4 of the world’s population of Rothschild giraffes plus a healthy population of herbivores. In addition to 451 bird species, including 23 Albertine rift endemics.
The mighty River Nile flows through the park creating a powerful phenomenon at the Kabalega Falls. Enjoy the views of these magnificent falls where Nile forces its way through a gorge in the rocks and tumbles 43m below flowing westwards into Lake Albert. Did you know that Murchison Falls are the most POWERFUL waterfalls in the whole world?
After Murchison Falls National Park, you will visit Kibale National Park; a haven with the largest concentration of chimpanzees. Uganda has highest number of Chimpanzee in the whole world which is about 4950 chimpanzees and Kibale National Park holds about 1500 chimpanzees.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is the largest biotic area in Africa. It is a habitat for variety of flora and fauna, hippo, tree-climbing lions, elephants, swamp antelope, Uganda-kobs, topis, water bucks, bush bucks, reed bucks, duiker, and many other animal species. It is home to over 95 species of mammals and over 600 species of birds. The park is also Uganda’s most popular tourist destination.
You will enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. Some of the best wildlife viewings are done on boat cruise by viewing Squacco herons, hippos, Elephants, Antelopes, and more.
You will visit the Ishasha sector, in the far south of the park, is famous for its tree-climbing lions; these female lions, who enjoy spending the long, are the most memorable sight in the entire park, but don't miss the superb birdlife or the wonderful boat trip on the Kazinga Channel either.
Then you will have Mountain Gorilla trekking in the jungles of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Did know that Uganda has the highest percentage of Mountain Gorillas in the world? There are currently less than 1200 mountain gorillas left in the world and almost half of the population resides in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda, the Pearl of Africa. Gorilla trekking is one of the top activities while on a safari.
Another interesting destination you will visit is Lake Bunyonyi, this twisting water body dotted with 29 islands will amaze you.
Maasai Mara is Kenya’s finest wildlife sanctuary with well over 450 animal species. You will experience some game drives during this safari. Besides experiencing the game drives, you will have time to enjoy the scenic view of the Great Rift Valley.
Lake Naivasha National Park is arguably one of the main attractions in Kenya. For one, it‘s a gateway to a variety of wildlife. Taking a boat excursion with your family will give you spectacular views of; Flamingoes, Hippos and Fish eagles.
Lake Nakuru National Park's claim to fame is anchored on its flamingo's and the over 400 species of birds found here. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift valley. The sight of the at times millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance the lake appears ringed in pink. The Park has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species- particularly the Rothschild Giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, waterbuck, buffalo and baboons are all residents here.
You will also get an opportunity to visit Serengeti National Park, is also home to the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard – and you might be able to see all the members of this group. After Serengeti, you visit the wildlife rich Ngorongoro Crater.
