The Lemosho Route is a newer, more remote route that offers arguably the most beautiful views on Kilimanjaro. Though slightly longer and more expensive, it provides a more gradual ascent, which is better for acclimatization. Starting on the western side of the mountain at Londorossi Gate, it is a bit farther from town but offers a stunning and less-crowded experience.
After passing through beautiful forests and moorlands, the route crosses the Shira Plateau on Day 3, where it connects with the Machame Route at Lava Tower, before descending into the Barranco Valley via the Southern Circuit. You may even be lucky enough to see buffalo, elephants, and other wildlife along the way. Because the route offers more time for acclimatization, it has a higher summit success rate.
