Day 1: Serval Wildlife Sanctuary Your Serval Wildlife Sanctuary adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Moshi. As you journey out of town, you’ll travel through the picturesque landscapes of Kilimanjaro’s countryside—passing farms, small villages, and open savannahs with stunning mountain views. The drive to the sanctuary, located in the beautiful Siha District, takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon arrival at Serval Wildlife, you’ll be warmly welcomed by the sanctuary staff. After a short briefing about the sanctuary’s conservation efforts and sustainability mission, you’ll begin a guided tour of the grounds. This immersive experience introduces you to a variety of unique wildlife—observe African lions in their secure enclosures, hand-feed friendly Masai giraffes, and interact with curious colobus monkeys and bat-eared foxes. Your guide will share fascinating insights into the behaviors, habitats, and conservation status of each species. As you walk through the sanctuary, you’ll appreciate the tranquil environment and the eco-friendly infrastructure powered entirely by solar energy.
