Important information
Important Information for the 5-Day Safari:
Best Time to Visit:
This safari can be enjoyed year-round, but the best wildlife viewing typically occurs during the dry season (June to October). The Great Migration in the Serengeti happens from June to July (river crossings) and December to March (calving season).
Wildlife Sightings:
Wildlife is unpredictable, so specific sightings can't be guaranteed. However, you’ll have excellent opportunities to see the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino), as well as a variety of other species including giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, and many birds.
Ngorongoro Crater:
The descent into Ngorongoro Crater is a steep 600 meters. It’s one of the most densely populated areas for wildlife in Africa, offering incredible chances to see rhinos and other big game.
Safari Vehicle:
You will be traveling in a 4x4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof, ideal for game viewing and photography. The vehicle is private, providing flexibility to stop and spend time observing wildlife as per your interest.
Packing Essentials:
Be sure to pack sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, comfortable clothing in neutral colors, binoculars, and a camera. Evenings and mornings can be cool, so bring a light jacket.
Health and Safety:
Malaria is present in some areas, so consult your doctor about prophylactics. It's also advisable to bring any personal medications and a basic first aid kit. Always follow your guide’s instructions during the safari for safety, especially near wildlife.
Park Rules:
Stick to designated roads and trails.
Do not disturb animals or feed them.
Observe from a distance, and never attempt to touch or get out of the vehicle unless instructed by your guide.
Travel Insurance:
Comprehensive travel insurance is essential. It should cover medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and loss of personal belongings.
Tipping:
Tipping is not mandatory but is highly appreciated for guides and staff. It’s customary to tip $10–$20 per day for the guide.
Customizable Tour:
The itinerary can be customized according to your preferences and schedule, such as extending your stay or adding cultural visits. Let your guide or tour operator know if you want adjustments.
