Your day begins with an early transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park, which is about a 2-3 hour drive through Rwanda’s picturesque countryside. Upon arrival at the park headquarters, you will receive a briefing about the gorilla trekking experience, including park rules and trekking guidelines. Once prepared, you will head out on the trek through the park’s lush forests in search of one of the habituated gorilla families. After locating them, you will spend one hour observing these magnificent creatures as they go about their daily activities in the wild. Gorilla permits will be arranged separately at an extra cost and are required for this experience. After your gorilla trek, you will enjoy a delicious lunch at a nearby lodge, then in the afternoon, head to the Mukungwa River for a canoe trip. This tranquil river, surrounded by beautiful landscapes, provides a serene and peaceful environment for a relaxing canoe ride. You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the area and reflect on the excitement of the morning’s adventure. In the late afternoon, you will begin your transfer back to Kigali, where you will arrive in the evening. You can be dropped off at your hotel or directly at the airport for your onward flight.
