Your day starts with an early morning transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park. The journey takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, offering beautiful views of Rwanda's rural landscapes as you approach the park. Upon arrival, you will begin a full-day game drive through Akagera, crossing the park from south to north. As you explore the park's diverse ecosystems, you’ll have the opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife, including the Big Five. Keep an eye out for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, and antelope, as well as predators like lions, leopards, and hyenas. The park is also home to a rich diversity of bird species, making it a birdwatcher’s paradise. Around midday, you will stop for a picnic lunch at one of the park's designated scenic areas, where you can relax and enjoy your meal amidst the natural beauty of the park. After lunch, continue your game drive further into the northern part of the park, where you may encounter more wildlife and stunning landscapes. As you journey through the park, you’ll pass by lakes, wetlands, and grasslands, all while observing the wide range of wildlife that call Akagera home. In the late afternoon, you will begin your transfer back to Kigali, arriving by evening. You will be dropped off at your hotel or directly at the airport for your onward flight.
