While the actual 3.6-million-year-old hominin footprints are re-covered for preservation, you will typically see excellent replicas at the Olduvai Gorge Museum. Shifting Sands: Visit the unique Shifting Sands, crescent-shaped black dunes made of volcanic ash from Oldoinyo Lengai. Witness this geological phenomenon as the dunes slowly migrate across the plains. It's a great photo opportunity. Evening: Proceed from Olduvai Gorge into the Serengeti National Park (Central Serengeti). Check into your pre-booked lodge in the Serengeti. Enjoy dinner and prepare for an early start tomorrow.
