The park is named after the Tarangire River, which flows through it. Covering 2,600 square kilometers, it is Tanzania's sixth-largest national park and famous for its large elephant herds. While drier than the Serengeti, its lush vegetation includes expansive grasslands, acacia woodlands, and vibrant ribbons of aquatic forest. The park is also home to the iconic baobab trees, some of which are over 600 years old and can store between 300 to 900 liters of water. In the afternoon, you'll enjoy a lunch break before continuing your game drive, exploring the park's diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes until late afternoon.
