Your day begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha. The first stop is Materuni village, just outside Moshi, nestled in the highlands at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival, a local guide will warmly welcome you and take you through a traditional Chagga coffee experience. You'll visit a small farm where local coffee beans grow. You’ll participate in the entire coffee process — from picking ripe beans to washing, roasting, and grinding them — accompanied by joyful Chagga songs and dances. After enjoying a freshly brewed cup of your own coffee, you’ll begin a short hike (about 45 minutes) to Materuni Waterfall. The trail winds through lush farms and forest paths with great views of the surrounding area. At the end, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking sight — the Materuni Waterfall plunging over 70 meters into a crystal-clear pool. You’ll have time to rest, take photos, or dip your feet in the chilly water before hiking back. A local lunch is served back in the village, usually featuring traditional Tanzanian dishes like rice, beans, and vegetables. After lunch, the journey continues to Chemka Hot Springs, a one-hour drive from Moshi. This hidden gem offers a peaceful setting for swimming and soaking in warm, natural water. It’s surrounded by ancient trees, creating a jungle oasis atmosphere. You can swing into the water, float around, or just relax on the edge with a drink. After several hours of swimming and chilling, you’ll drive back to Moshi or Arusha, arriving in the evening.
