Tagesausflug zum Kilimandscharo (Marangu-Route)

Your Kilimanjaro day begins early in the morning with pick-up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha. The drive to Marangu Gate takes about 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on your location. Upon arrival, you’ll register at the park entrance, meet your mountain guide, and prepare for the trek. As you enter Kilimanjaro National Park, the trail winds through a cool, lush rainforest alive with birdsong and the rustling of animals. This lower zone of the mountain is rich in biodiversity. You may encounter playful blue monkeys, curious colobus monkeys, and hear the chirps of rare bird species. Giant fig trees and ferns create a magical green tunnel, giving you a true sense of nature’s embrace. The trail is well-maintained and suitable for anyone in moderate physical condition. You will gradually ascend for around 3 to 4 hours to Mandara Hut, situated at 2,700 meters. Along the way, your guide will share insights about the flora, fauna, and cultural significance of the mountain. You’ll also learn how climbers prepare for the multi-day trek to the summit. At Mandara Hut, enjoy your packed lunch, take photos, and if time and weather allow, take a short walk to the Maundi Crater for panoramic views of Kenya and surrounding valleys. After a refreshing break, you’ll descend the same trail back to the gate, taking another 2 to 3 hours. You’ll then be transferred back to your hotel by late afternoon or early evening.
