4-Day Namibia Endemics Birding Tour

The four-day endemic birding tour begins this morning with a pick-up from your hotel or guesthouse. Bags will be loaded into a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle, and the journey will commence. The drive provides an excellent opportunity to discuss target bird species for the trip. The first destination is Daan Viljoen Game Reserve, located on the western outskirts of Windhoek. This reserve offers outstanding dry-country birding, making it an ideal starting point for the adventure. From there, the route descends the escarpment and traverses the breathtaking plains of the Namib Desert, where the stark beauty of the landscape adds to the excitement of the journey. Arrival in Walvis Bay is expected by late afternoon, where the perfectly situated accommodation offers comfort and convenience for the evening. After settling in, the late afternoon is dedicated to birdwatching at the renowned Walvis Bay Lagoon. This internationally acclaimed site is a haven for a variety of exceptional bird species, including vast flocks of Greater and Lesser Flamingos, and a range of waders that make this lagoon a prime birding destination. As the day winds down, there will be time to freshen up before heading to one of the town's excellent restaurants for a delightful dinner, featuring local and international cuisine. The evening concludes back at the lodge, offering a restful night in preparation for the adventures ahead.
