Important information
Transport:
Because of a diverse nature of this tour, you will travel in different vehicles each of which is the best at a certain day of your trip:
- Open customized safari-vehicle during your game drives in the national park, for undisturbed merging with a wild nature;
- Luxury business-class minivan for trips between cities and in Iringa area;
- Off-road Toyota Land Cruiser Prado for easy access to remote areas and off-road transfers between destinations;
- Express train for a trip from Dar es Salaam to Dodoma.
Number of travelers:
- The optimal number of travelers for this tour is 4 people. That is how the full comfort and the optimal price of $1290 per person will be guaranteed.
- The maximum number of travelers for this tour is 5 people. If you are a family or group of friends of 5 people, you all are welcome. However, the price remains $1290 per person.
- This trip can be certainly organised for 1, 2 or 3 travelers as well (with price adjustment).
Children's discounts:
The tour is originally designed for the adult travelrs (16+ years), but if you plan to travel with your children, you are very welcome. To calculate precise children's discounts for you, we kindly ask you to contact us for more details.
Payment Terms & Conditions:
As soon as we received a 40% deposit in our bank account (via bank transfer), your booking is final.
The final balance is due 14 days before the tour start date.
Payment also can be made via credit/debit card, with a 4.1% surcharge for transfer costs.
Final balance can be also paid in cash upon your arrival, if agreed with us in advance.
Cancellation by the client:
Cancellations 90 days or more in advance of the start of the safari, incur a 20% fee.
Cancellations 89-60 days in advance incur a 30% fee.
Cancellations 59-30 days in advance incur a 40% fee.
Cancellations 29-15 days in advance incur a 70% fee.
Cancellations 10 days or less in advance incur a 100% fee.
Cancellation by Luna’s Wild Rides:
The Company reserves the right to cancel a safari tour in exceptional circumstances beyond its control, such as natural disasters, political instability, or unforeseen operational constraints. In such cases, the Client will receive a full refund of all payments made to the Company. Cancellation terms can vary per tour. If a different policy applies to a certain tour, the Company will inform the Client before the booking. Any additional fees (e.g., bank charges) associated with refund to the Client are the responsibility of the Client.
Luggage:
We will email you a packing list after your booking is made.
A duffel bag or soft-sided bag is recommended for ease of carrying and packing inside the safari vehicle.
Ensure the bag is durable, waterproof, and lockable.
Valuables should be kept in a separate day pack or backpack.
Leave any sentimental or monetary items at home.
Clothing:
Pack for hot days and cool nights.
Choose mid-tone colors and avoid white or bright colors that may distract animals.
Avoid dark colors like black and blue as they can attract flies.
Safari classics like olive, green, and khaki are ideal choices.
Dress casually for evenings at lodges, even luxury lodges.
Check the temperature before traveling to ensure adequate warm clothing for the season.
Always bring a waterproof coat.
Respect Tanzania's conservative culture by avoiding short shorts or low-cut tops.
Shoes:
Trainers and sports sandals are sufficient for most safari activities.
Sandals are also good for walking around the camp at night.
Flip-flops for showers may be preferred.
Sun Protection:
A good pair of sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat are essential for sun protection.
High-protection sunscreen and lip salve are also crucial.
Photography & Electrical Equipment:
A waterproof bag or carry case to protect the camera is recommended.
Don't forget spare/extra batteries and memory cards.
Binoculars are crucial for wildlife spotting. We provide one pair of binoculars per safari-vehicle.
Photography Etiquette:
Photography of military installations is forbidden in Tanzania.
Bridges, border posts, and airports are also sensitive areas.
Act with discretion and respect when taking photos of people, always ask for permission beforehand.
Electrical Charging:
All our safari vehicles have power/charging points.
Bring travel adaptors to ensure they are compatible with your appliances/devices.
Most accommodations use Type G plug sockets.
